About
“I meet God when I dance.”
Dr. Dimple Kaur has spent more than twenty years where very few people stand: at the meeting point of the therapy room and the stage. A PhD psychologist and clinical hypnotherapist, and an acclaimed Indian classical dancer, she brought both worlds together as the creator of Applied Natya Therapy.

The dancer
Her interest in Indian classical dance was kindled at a very young age. Today she is an accomplished dancer with proficiency in Bharatanatyam, Vilasini Natyam and Chhau — learned from distinguished gurus, and now taught and performed worldwide.
The scholar
Her hunger for knowledge of Indian heritage and value systems is insatiable. She completed her Masters in English Literature and a Doctorate in Psychology while studying the nuances of these arts and their rich legacy.
The therapist
Early on, Dr. Kaur understood that the true nature of Natya is therapeutic. That quest led her to become a licensed psychotherapist and a certified trainer in Clinical Hypnotherapy (CHt, USA).
Mission
To reach and teach this wise, impactful ancient technique to modern-day curious learners — and bring about change in their lives and in society.
Life’s work
Integrating Natya, clinical applications and value systems into what she terms Applied Natya Therapy — with a life goal of bringing it to the world. Her doctoral research explores dance/movement therapy for complex trauma.
As a speaker
Twenty years on stages and podiums
Dr. Kaur is a motivational speaker invited by universities, corporations and organizations to speak on women’s empowerment, motivation, behavioral science, and the dancing body. Her pioneering research brings the therapeutic benefits of dance to a range of physical and mental health conditions.
